Building system testing and maintenance (IQP)

An IQP is an "Independent Qualified Person" who is registered with and recognised by a local authority as having proven that they have sufficient experience to certify that a particular building system has been maintained and is operating according to the required standards or codes. 

We are IQP registered for the following building systems:
  • SS2 - Automatic or manual emergency warning system (Type 1 - 4)
  • SS3 1/2/3 - Electromatic or Automatic door systems & Windows
  • SS4 - Emergency lighting systems
  • SS11 - Laboratory Fume Cupboards
  • SS12 1/2 - Audio loops or other assistive listening systems
  • SS13 1/2/3 - Smoke control systems
  • SS14 1 - Emergency Power Systems
  • SS14 2 - Signs relating to system or feature
  • SS15 1 - Systems for Communicating spoken information
  • SS15 2 - Final Exits

Inspection and certification

(PAT) Portable appliance testing:
Equipment needs to be regularly inspected and tested to detect damage, wear or any other condition that may make it unsafe to use. New equipment needs to be inspected, tested and tagged before use, and equipment already in service must be tested and tagged at the intervals detailed in the table below.

Repaired or serviced equipment must be tested and tagged before return to service.

A "competent person" is required to carry out this electrical work, and as registered electricians we are deemed to be a "competent person". We can carry out testing and tagging of your equipment and repair any faults that are revealed during the process.
